Rebecca A. Valk


Rebecca’s practice includes municipal law, land use and zoning, labor and employment law, student disciplinary hearings, landlord and tenant, and general civil litigation. Rebecca also serves as a court appointed guardian ad litem in various Surrogate Court matters and as court appointed court evaluator and attorney for the AIP in actions under Mental Hygiene Law Article 81.

Prior to joining Mackey Butts & Wise, LLP, Rebecca was Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Poughkeepsie where she defended the City in proceedings before the New York Public Employment Relations Board and the New York State Division of Human Rights. She also handled all legal matters for the Poughkeepsie Housing Authority and prosecuted Civil Service Law disciplinary matters.

From 2004-2013, Rebecca was in private practice with two area firms where she focused on the representation of municipalities and public school districts throughout the Hudson Valley
